Watercolors, ink, white correction fluid... some markers. Reference from wonderful
Well I am kind of busy these days (I need to study for my exams) so that's why I was not here as often as I'd liked... I feel like the weather and "studystudystudy" mood are affecting my paintings, they all seem so gloomy lately. Ugh and that weather... seriously... it's dark when I leave for school and dark when I come back, cold and all you can see is... nothing. Because of the thick fog Lol it's like a setting for a horror movie
The way her hair flows around her head is magnificent, and if you look really closely at her face, you can see that it is cracked. You make your audience think that she is an elaborate doll and the paint is coming off. Her eyes are silvery and glossy, which makes you think she is about to cry. Her lips are odd, but in a nice way, which make me think that she is quiet and introvert. Part of her mascara is drooping which makes me think she has cried recently. There are parts in the hair that are interesting because it looks like there are missing puzzle pieces to the picture. The cigarette smoke it elaborate, and the dress, but the black swirls and marks on the dress make it look unreal and like you drew over it. That's the only downside. Good JOB !!!!!
I must say I love you work, and I watched some of your video's form your live feed page and are you looking at someone when you are painting or is it all from your head because you were saying that you don't really think about what you are going to paint you just do it for fun so I guess what I want to know is do you work from a reference photo or is it just from memory.
most of the time I use a reference (friends, family, random tumblr pics), but sometimes only to get the anatomy right (I do change the features). What I meant is that I usually don't think too much about the colors or background and those kind of things, I just slowly add things to the painting as I feel it at that moment... it depends a lot on my feelings and moods, if you want me to paint a happy, colorful painting I have to be in a nice place in my head I am still a beginner, so I don't really have the confidence you need if you want to paint from the memory...
well you do very nice work, and even the old masters painted by reference but there are people that have photographic memory and can paint just from the head. I myself paint with reference too, but I still am not at your level yet, so can I hate you know! Anyways I love your work and keep it up because you inspirer people like me to get better and I well be waiting to see more work from you so two thumbs up!
Wow, what colours, what light, what play on textures!... You transcend the original B&W portrait and make it something new. From her emanate darkness and light at the same time. She's disturbingly beautiful, one may say. I love your style
